Childline welcomes rape sentence of KZN father
Updated | By Celumusa Zulu
A children's rights group believes the sentencing of a northern KwaZulu-Natal father to four life terms for raping his children will send a strong message.

The family lived in the Hluhluwe area, and it's understood the 41-year-old assaulted the children between 2015 and 2019.
They were aged between two and eight at the time.
During the trial, the children told the Eshowe Regional Court court he would call them inside while they were playing and rape them.
He pleaded not guilty during the trial, but the court found him guilty on all charges.

KZN Childline’s Adeshni Naicker says protecting children is a shared responsibility.
She's urged communities to speak out and report abuse.
" We are deeply disappointed by the abuse but praise the courage of the survivors for speaking out. We urge the public to remain vigilant and report any suspected abuse.
"We continue to offer free counselling, support and advocacy to affected children and families. For help or to report abuse, call the Childline 24/7 toll free helpline 116."
