Progressive Youth Alliance member at UKZN Westville Londiwe Makhanya says police must leave their campus - adding the vandalism will stop if they do.
"As students we are academics. We are not only here to advocate for free education; we understand the basis, the reason we are here. So we don't understand why our institution militarizes the campus, when the students are crying for free education. It doesn't make sense that when the student leadership call for engagement, we wake up the next day it's SAPS campus - it's no longer Westville campus," he says.
