Eskom must be steered in right direction: Brown
Public Enterprises Minister Lynne Brown says the truthfulness of maladministration at Eskom must be tested in court.
Brown says the power utility's integrity must be restored.
She addressed a conference in Sandton yesterday.
The power utility's financial results are being released today and if recent reports of its finances are anything to go by - it won't paint a pretty picture.
Brown did not want to comment on allegations the utility is in deep financial trouble, but still plans to pay exorbitant bonuses to senior executives.

She says steps have been taken to steer Eskom in the right direction.
"I've recently had reason to question the veracity of some of the answers that I have been given. I have, therefore, instituted various measures, including changing the board and establishing a deep-dive investigation to be conducted by South Africa's Special Investigation Unit into all the allegations of impropriety that have surfaced at Eskom in the last 10 years," says Brown.
"I have also asked the new interim board of Eskom to conduct certain short term investigations of their own and report to me with recommendations."
