Brazilian nabbed in OR Tambo Airport R1.4m drug bust

Police have arrested a suspected drug mule at OR Tambo International Airport for possession of drugs worth R1.4 million.

The 39-year-old man was found with cocaine wrapped around his legs.
The Brazilian national was travelling from São Paulo to Benin when he was intercepted.

"He was intercepted by police officers at the airport, he was pulled aside and during a body search, cocaine was found wrapped around his legs," said National Police spokesperson Athlenda Mathe.
"SAPS is intensifying its efforts to clamp down on the illicit trade of drugs."
The suspect will appear in the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court on Monday for drug trafficking.
