Body of infant found in Isithebe river

An inquest docket has been opened after the body of a four-month-old baby was found in a river in Isithebe in northern KZN.
It's reported the infant's mother noticed she was missing around 11pm on Friday when she realised the little girl wasn't in her bed.

"A child was found the following morning floating by the river with no visible injuries," says KZN police spokesperson Nqobile Gwala.
Paramedics say the baby was discovered by a group of children who were alerted to the body by swarming flies.
