It is alleged that 16-year-old Bobo, as he was affectionately known, was caught stealing alcohol from the shebeen in Tongaat in 2020, which led to owner Mlungisi Thabethe, along with six of his friends, beating him to death with various objects.

On Thursday a senior SAPS official concluded his testimony under cross examination around the process where one of the accused led police to where they had dumped mutilated Bobo's body.

After court proceedings Bobo's uncle, Bongani Mthembu, said they're now starting to see the pace of the trial pick up with relevant information coming to light.

“As parents the pain is very much still there, especially when hearing the blow-by-blow accounts given court.

“However this is why we keep coming because we want to see the court exercising justice over those who have broken the law," said Mthembu.

He said they are confident that processes are well in motion towards justice.

"We will get justice from the court because there those left behind whom Mlungisi Thabethe was carrying out these gruesome acts with."
