Bluff CPF describes how kidnapped girl (4) was found

A member of the Bluff Community Policing Forum has been describing how they helped police track down a kidnapped four-year-old girl.
It's understood the child was on a playground on Dayal Road in Clairwood on Friday afternoon when a man lured her with treats.
Andy Rossell of the Bluff CPF says number plate recognition cameras - that the forum has installed across the Durban South - played a vital role in locating the girl.
"One of our patrollers that is very active on our group and spends a lot of time on the cameras managed to actually find the registration number of the vehicle that was involved.
"The happened to be an Uber taxi and from there they traced the owner of the taxi who then through a series of events led to the actual finding of the culprit that had kidnapped this young lady."
The child was found unharmed at Q Section in Umlazi and reunited with her mother.
Rossell says it all happened within hours of the child going missing.
It's believed the kidnappers were planning to take her to Nkandla the following day to perform a ritual with the girl.
