Archbishop Makgoba calls for global peace
Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
The President of the South African Council of Churches
has called for the country to pray for communities caught in the crossfire of
global conflicts.

This comes in the wake of a deadly 12-day war between Iran and Israel, which has now paused under a fragile ceasefire.
Over 600 people were killed during the fighting.
Archbishop Thabo Makgoba says the violence and destruction seen in the Middle East is heartbreaking.
He was speaking at a leadership summit in Ballito hosted by KZN Cogta.
"We want to shout from the mountaintops, please move the leaders of the world to give peace a chance.
We are human beings and the one distinct gift we have is the ability to communicate with one another.
Please move the leaders of nations wherever they are to cease the fire."
Iran has since reopened airspace over the country's east following its ceasefire with Israel.
