Anti-racism march: Ugu District mayor receives memorandum

A memorandum calling for the criminalisation of racism has been handed over to the Mayor of the Ugu District Municipality.
Scores of people marched through Scottburgh today, which is the home of former estate agent Penny Sparrow, who referred to black beach-goers as monkeys in a post of Facebook latst week.
Many from different walks of life have travelled from Durban and neighbouring towns to show their support in the fight against racism.
The march was organised by the provincial ANC Youth League and was led by Arts and Culture Minister Nathi Mthethwa.
