Another drunk trucker bust sparks safety fears on N3
Updated | By Noxolo Miya
A truck driver is spending the weekend in custody in Ladysmith after he was caught driving under the influence on one of KZN's busiest corridors.

The man was arrested yesterday on the N3 near Van Reenen’s Pass, with alcohol levels well above the legal limit.
KZN Transport's Ndabezinhle Sibiya says it’s not an isolated incident.
Another truck driver — found with 20 times the legal alcohol limit — is due in court in August.

Sibiya says the arrests have raised concerns about the behaviour of truck drivers on the province’s roads.
"Weeks ago, we laid to rest nine victims of a horrific accident involving a truck in Empangeni along the N2."
"The MEC pointed out families lost their loved ones and breadwinners, with children becoming orphans as a result of one reckless truck driver."
