Andre Slade's partner back in court, could be deported
Updated | By ECR Newswatch
The controversial Sodwana Bay Guest House owner Andre Slade and his partner are expected back in court today.
Slovakia-born Katarina Krizani, whom Slade refers to as his bride, is facing charges of contravening the Immigration Act while Slade was arrested for harboring an illegal immigrant.
Slade made headlines earlier this year when he refused to accommodate black people and government employees at his north coast guesthouse.
Social media was abuzz with calls for him to be investigated while Tourism Minister Derek Hanekom referred the matter to the SA Human Rights Council
“It is not a racist thing; it is rather an instruction of God, ” he said in an exclusive interview.
Led by the ANC Youth League, masses marched in protest of this policy resulting in the closure of the establishment.
The couple will appear in the Ubombo Magistrates Court, while Krizani could be deported if found guilty.
