ANC's Super Zuma takes the stand at Moerane Commission

The ANC in KwaZulu-Natal is in the hot seat again at the Moerane Commission of Inquiry today.
Sihle Zikalala, the party's provincial chair, yesterday spoke about how current events in KZN were shaped by the country's political history.
The commission's probing political violence in the province.
Zikalala made his much anticipated appearance at the Commission yesterday, accompanied by senior provincial leaders.

He began his testimony by giving a lengthy historical account of how violence in KZN was entrenched during the colonial era and by the apartheid government that used orchestrated tactics to oppress the majority.
He then went on to say that the ANC is deeply concerned by the killings and violence. Zikalala shared short, medium and long-term solutions to address the issue.

However, his testimony did not address the accusations by some of the previous witnesses at the Commission who said the ANC is often at the centre of the killings, or how some of its members get caught up in power struggles.
