Ramaphosa has come under fire from the opposition after backtracking on his response to a Parliamentary question regarding a R500 000 payment from the corruption accused company.

The President initially told the National Assembly the funds were for consulting services carried out by his son's company.

He's since revealed it was in fact a donation towards his election campaign ahead of the party's national conference in December.

Mbalula touched on the issue at a press briefing in Durban yesterday.

"President Ramaphosa was not put under pressure by anybody to make those revelations. He would have concealed them if he was a crook. And basically bury it because it has far-reaching consequences," Mbalula said.

The ANC's national spokesperson, Pule Mabe says there'll be a more detailed briefing on the issue today.

"The Chief Whip of the ANC, Comrade Jackson Mthembu, is also expected to give a response to that on the kind of measures that are also being considered at the level of Parliament by the ANC caucus," Mabe said.
