The DA claims members were chased from the Umsunduzi's Ward 32 while conducting a door-to-door campaign.

The opposition's Mergan Chetty claims there have been several incidents where party members have been intimidated.

Chetty says they're laying charges so upcoming by-elections go smoothly.

But the ANC's Mdumiseni Ntuli has dismissed the allegations, saying the DA is panicking because it's lost control of the ward.

"We've heard about the incidents that have allegedly taken place in Ward 32. The DA can take the ANC to the IEC. What has happened in that area was in breach of the law. What we know as a matter of fact is that there is a deep sense of panic on the part of theDemocratic Alliance," he said.
