ANC bids farewell to Fidel Castro
The ashes of revolutionary Cuban leader, Fidel Castro, is being transported to its final journey across that country.
In Gauteng, the ANC is also remembering the late Cuban leader.
"We are here in a democratic South Africa in large measure, because of the contribution of the Cubans," said African Union Commission Chairperson Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma.
Dlamini-Zuma addressed the service and was joined by former Speaker of Parliament Max Sisulu.
"He had a warm heart. He had a very strong bear hug. When he hugged you in this bear hug, it felt like he was squeezing you. He had a great sense of humour. He always had a twinkle in his eyes, because he said the future is yours," said Sisulu.
President Jacob Zuma is currently attending a memorial in Cuba for Castro, who died at the age of 90 late on Friday.
