Analyst: SA economy could pay the price for Whitfield axing
Updated | By Lauren Hendricks
A political analyst says the country will suffer as tensions rise in the Government of National Unity over the axing of the DA's Andrew Whitfield.

The clock is ticking for President Cyril Ramaphosa, who has less than 48 hours to fire all ANC ministers in his cabinet who are accused of corruption.
The political battle escalated after Ramaphosa fired the Deputy Minister for an unapproved DA-led trip to the United States.
On Friday, Ramaphosa responded firmly, saying he would not bow to threats or ultimatums, even from members of his executive.
He says Whitfield's axing is in line with the rules.
UKZN lecturer Zakhele Ndlovu says if the two biggest parties within the GNU stop working together the country will be in serious trouble.
" Our economy's investors, who have regained some confidence in South Africa after the formation of the GNU, those investors would start dragging their feet when it comes to investing in South Africa."
