Alleged Durban drug lab operator in the dock

A man's appearing in a Durban court today following a drug bust in the CBD.

Police say he'd been operating a drug lab from a flat on Anton Lembede Street.
They raided the apartment yesterday and found heroin - as well as packaging material and a sealer machine.
SAPS spokesperson Nqobile Gwala says officers were then led elsewhere.

"The investigation was conducted at another flat where two safes were found containing cash and heroin. The safe contained a digital scale, 495 green plastic loops of heroin as well as heroin.
She says cash of over R65 000 was also seized by police.
"The estimated street value of the recovered drugs is R400 000-00. A 26-year-old suspect was arrested for possession and dealing in drugs."
