All parks require equal anti-poaching efforts: Ezemvelo KZN
Updated | By Anelisa Kubheka
702 rhinos have been poached for their horn since the beginning of the year.
That's down from the 796 killed during the same period last year.
Poaching at Kruger National Park has declined by 17.8%, however, KZN has seen an increase in incidents.
Ezemvelo's Cedric Coetzee says it's important to view the country's rhino population as a single stock because the demand for horn hasn't decreased.
"So, what's going to happen is that the poaching effort is going to be dispersed to other areas where rhino can be found and this can be seen by an increase in KZN, the Orange Free State, the Northern Cape and Eastern Cape," he said.
