AG to release audit report on flood spending in August
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
The spending of flood relief funds in KZN is being monitored
through a magnifying glass and real-time audits.

Auditor-general Tsakani Maluleke says they'll be keeping track of all government department's financial transactions, as billions are invested in rebuilding parts of KZN following last month's disastrous floods.
Her team will work to ensure its corruption-free process.
Maluleke expects to release its first audit report in August.

"We will also look at Public Works and SASSA. At the provincial level, similar departments but including Education, Social Development and Health and on the local level we focus specifically on KZN and Eastern Cape."
Maluleke was addressing the Standing Committee on the Auditor-General.
