Acting CEO of Eskom removed, new interim CEO appointed
Updated | By ECR Newswatch
Johnny Dladla has been removed as acting Eskom CEO.
The power utility has now appointed Sean Maritz as the interim Group CEO with immediate effect.
Dladla was asked to step into the position in June this year after acting CEO Matshela Koko was suspended.
Eskom spokesperson, Khulu Phasiwe says changing the acting CEO is part of efforts to ensure organisational stability until a permanent appointment is made.
"As you will know, that position has not been filled. As a result, the board has decided to rotate the executives within that Eskom executive so they will continuously become interim CEO's, until a final decision has been taken as to who the permanent CEO is," he said.
Public Enterprises Minister, Lynne Brown has told Parliament a new board would be appointed next month.
