Accommodation industry remains closed for leisure

The accommodation industry must remain closed for leisure. Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs Minister, Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma has been clearing the air following President Cyril Ramaphosa's address last night.

Speaking at a National Coronavirus Command Council media briefing this afternoon, Dlamini-Zuma said hotels, bed and breakfast and lodges will only be open for quarantine, isolation and work purposes.

"But not like just saying I'll call my kids and my cousins let us go and stay in a lodge and enjoy our best lives. No that is still not allowed."
Meanwhile, beaches across the province will remain closed to bathers
"But going to the beach is still not permitted because people tend to gather in huge numbers there."
She says taxis will be allowed to continue loading at 100 percent capacity, for trips within a province
However, taxis travelling long-distance are to be capped at 70 percent.
