President Cyril Ramaphosa says 7.5 million people have been vaccinated against the coronavirus in South Africa.
Around half of them are fully jabbed.
Writing in his weekly newsletter, Ramaphosa said the vaccination rate is expected to increase significantly in the coming weeks as more Covid-19 vaccines are set to arrive.

The president said the first jabs produced in South Africa were released by Aspen Pharmacare from its flagship manufacturing plant in Gqeberha last week.
“These shots will be made available to the rest of the continent through the African Vaccine Acquisition Task Team,” Ramaphosa wrote.
The team was set up during South Africa's tenure as African Union chair.
