Five suspects arrested in connection with a string of crimes in parts of KwaZulu-Natal will spend their Christmas behind bars.
The men aged between 26 and 29 were arrested last month for crimes including house robbery, attempted murder, murder and carjacking.
The group allegedly committed these crimes during 2014 and 2015 in KwaMakhutha and Umkomaas areas, south of Durban.
Here's police spokesperson Nqobile Gwala says they are due back in court next year.
"It is believed that they're part of a group of 10 suspect that has been terrorising the community of Umkhomazi and KwaMakhutha, suspected to be police officials.
"They appeared in the Umbumbulu Magistrates Court and were remanded in custody until 27 January," she said.
