The Port Elizabeth High Court found Panayiotou had orchestrated Jayde's death.

Jayde, a school teacher, was abducted and taken to a remote area where she was shot three times.

His co-accused, Sinethemba Nenembe was also given a life sentence.

A third accused, convicted of conspiracy to commit murder, is serving a 15 year sentence.

The National Prosecuting Authority welcomed the verdict and sentences.

Panayiotou's legal team said after sentencing that they were preparing an application for leave to appeal the conviction.
