2017 Year in Review: Panayiotou handed life sentence for wife's murder

Port Elizabeth businessman, Christopher Panayiotou was handed a life sentence late in November for his role in his wife, Jayde's 2015 murder.

The Port Elizabeth High Court found Panayiotou had orchestrated Jayde's death.
Jayde, a school teacher, was abducted and taken to a remote area where she was shot three times.
His co-accused, Sinethemba Nenembe was also given a life sentence.
A third accused, convicted of conspiracy to commit murder, is serving a 15 year sentence.
The National Prosecuting Authority welcomed the verdict and sentences.
