2 Westville jewellery store robbers sentenced to 15 years

Two robbers, whose gang targeted a jewellery store in Westville, have begun serving jail sentences for the crime.

Employees were held at gunpoint, by four men who demanded to know the location of the safe.
Police spokesperson Thembeka Mbele says Sphamandla Mzulwini and Jabulani Mfeka, were sentenced to 15 years behind bars by the Pinetown Regional Court for the 2018 robbery.

"They stole jewellery and left the scene. As they were fleeing the scene, they were spotted by an off-duty police officer that witnessed the incident and there was a shoot-out.
"The suspects fled the scene in different directions. Various units from the SAPS joined the chase as well as other law enforcement agencies. They managed to arrest two men."
