2 suspects arrested after Mooi River farmer and his wife assaulted
Police have arrested two suspects after a farmer and his wife were robbed and assaulted in their home in Mooi River in the Midlands.
It's understood a third suspect was shot and wounded during the robbery.
A gun was stolen from the couple.
Police spokesperson Thulani Zwane says the suspects in custody are due to appear in court tomorrow.
"The police were called and they managed to arrest the two suspects while the other is still at large.
"We are not sure if he was shot by the farm owner because there was a struggle. When they were trying to take the firearm from the farm owner, I think and the firearm went off and hit one of the suspects, but that is still part of our investigation" he said.
