2 pedestrians killed in horrific Durban CBD accident
Updated | By Chanelle Lutchman
Two people have been killed and more than 30 hurt in an accident in the Durban CBD.
According to emergency services on the scene, a bus crashed into and killed two pedestrians who had been standing on a pavement on the corner Smith and Williams Streets.
Leon Fourie from Life Response Ambulance Services says the pedestrians died before their arrival.
"It appears that the bus lost control - it was pushed off the road and over the pavement. Two pedestrians standing on the pavement were killed on impact. Both of them still entrapped under the vehicle but confirmed deceased.
"About 32 patients from the bus have been transported by various emergency services to hospitals in the area," he said.
