2 hurt in Phoenix R102 crash
Updated | By Shaun Ryan
Two men are receiving treatment in hospital following a T-bone collision in Phoenix, north of Durban.
Emergency services say two cars crashed into each other at the intersection of the R102 and Stonebridge earlier.
Crisis Medical's Kyle van Reenen says the exact cause of the collision is not known at this stage.
"On arrival, it was discovered that one of the drivers - a male in his fifties - had sustained serious injuries and was mechanically entrapped inside his vehicle.
"With the assistance of eThekwini Fire and Rescue, the Jaws of Life were used to cut the man free from the vehicle. Once stabilised, he was taken through to hospital for further care," he said.
The other motorist has been taken to hospital with minor injuries.
