19 South Africans to return home from Gaza
Updated | By Jacaranda FM
Nineteen South Africans, who stuck in Gaza since the war began in October, are on their way home.
The Department of International Relations says the group was evacuated to Egypt on Monday after they received approval from Israel.
The country declared war on Hamas after the Palestinian armed group carried out attacks in southern Israel, killing at least 1200 people.

The Israeli military retaliated with an air and ground offensive that claimed the lives of nearly 16,000 people in Gaza.
"The group will land at OR Tambo International Airport at 1pm on Tuesday. The group consists of six men and 13 women.
“The Israeli government's intention to extend its attack on the people of Gaza is an indication that the leaders are immune to global calls to the immediate killings of Palestinian civilians,” the department added in its statement.
"The South African government continues to call for an immediate and permanent ceasefire and the resumption of talks that will end the violence."
