At least one dead as rains batter KZN
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Torrential
rains and severe thunderstorms have battered parts of KZN, leaving banks
collapsed rivers overflowing and a trail of road disasters in their wake.

In eThekwini, search and rescue officials have worked throughout the night to locate a vehicle that washed off a low-level bridge on Sarnia Road in Pinetown.
ALS Paramedic spokesperson, Garrith Jamieson says after walking along a heavily flooded river, they found the car on Stapleton Road on Friday morning.
He says a woman was in the vehicle.
"Unfortunately, once rescuers were able to reach it [the car] safely they found a female believed to have been in her fifties who had passed away due to her injuries that she had sustained.
"The body was recovered by SAPS and Metro Police Search and Rescue units and brought onto the roadside. The vehicle is still in the river as this will be an operation once the rain subsides."
