Eskom works to restore power supply to KZN homes
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
At least five thousand KZN households have been left without electricity due to the severe weather conditions.
Eskom says the loss of power in most cases has been due to trees that have fallen.
Spokesperson Joyce Zingoni says road closures have also prevented technicians from accessing some of the networks.
She says by last night they had managed to restore power to around fourteen thousand of the initial nineteen thousand customers affected.
"We cannot access all the areas at the moment due to the snow but we are working together with our teams to make sure that everyone gets their supply back as soon as possible," she said.
