"Grief is a strange thing - it sneaks up on you in waves."

Kelly Osbourne, the daughter of rock legend Ozzy Osbourne, is speaking out following his death.

The Black Sabbath frontman died on July 22 and was laid to rest in a private ceremony several days later.

Kelly, the youngest of Ozzy's six children, shared an emotional tribute on Instagram thanking his fans for their support.

"I've sat down to write this a hundred times and still don't know if the words will ever feel like enough... but from the bottom of my heart, thank you," she wrote.

The 40-year-old says kind words from fans have helped during this difficult time.

"The love, support, and beautiful messages I've received from so many of you have truly helped carry me through the hardest moment of my life. Every kind word, every shared memory, every bit of compassion has meant more than I can ever explain."

Kelly also opened up about how she has been handling the grief of losing her father.

"Grief is a strange thing-it sneaks up on you in waves—I will not be ok for a while-but knowing my family are not alone in our pain makes a difference. I'm holding on tight to the love, the light, and the legacy left behind," she said.

Kelly had a close relationship with her father and often spoke about her love for the musician.

She described Ozzy as her "hero" in a Father's Day post shared in June this year.

"I love you more than anyone or anything in the world! I am so proud to be your daughter and beyond honoured to watch you be the best #Papa in the world to my son!"

Kelly and Slipknot's DJ Sid Wilson welcomed their first child together, Sidney, in 2022.

She has shared several pictures of Ozzy and her mother, Sharon Osbourne, spending time with Sidney.

Wilson surprised the family by proposing to Kelly at Black Sabbath's farewell concert in July.

Ozzy joked, "F**k off, you're not marrying my daughter."

The father and daughter also performed together. They famously reimagined Black Sabbath's 1972 classic, 'Changes'.

Their version was released as a single in 2003 and peaked at #1 in the UK.

Kelly's current and former sisters-in-law also paid tribute to Ozzy on Instagram.

Aree Osbourne (née Gearhart), who is married to Ozzy's son Jack, described him as the "coolest father-in-law" and the best grandfather.

They have a daughter named Maple Artemis.

"The world got a rockstar but we got an ice lolly-loving, goofy, big-hearted guy who made us laugh like no other. He was always in my corner and I forever am thankful to him for raising my husband and blessing me w my family," she wrote.

Lisa Stelly, who has three children with Jack—Pearl Clementine, Andy Rose, and Minnie Theodora—also shared a sweet post.

"The world got Ozzy. We got Papa. One of one. Larger than life. It hurts to say goodbye, but what a gift it was to have him. We will never stop missing you."
