Jennifer Grey set to star in 'Dirty Dancing' sequel

Nobody puts Baby in a corner! The 'Dirty Dancing' sequel is finally happening.

Thirty-three years after its release, Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey's romantic classic, 'Dirty Dancing', is officially getting a sequel. 

According to Deadline, Lionsgate has confirmed the project. 

Jennifer, who played Frances 'Baby' Houseman in the 1987 film, will make a return. She will also executive produce. 

Patrick (Johnny Castle) sadly passed away in 2009 after losing his battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 57. 

'50/50' director Jonathan Levine and Gillian Bohrer will helm the project.

“It will be exactly the kind of romantic, nostalgic movie that the franchise’s fans have been waiting for,” Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer reportedly said. 

Details about the film's plot have not been revealed. Mikki Daughtry and Tobias Iaconis and working on the screenplay.
