This morning, the NFP in KZN said it had decided to vote with the provincial ANC in tomorrow's local government elections.

They made the announcement at a joint media briefing in Durban attended by the chairperson of NFP KZN Women’s Movement Happy Khuzwayo and NFP senior member Bonga Nzuza.

The ANC's Super Zuma says they agreed to cooperate as the parties share the same values, desires and vision for the citizens of KwaZulu-Natal.

"Although the NPF remains a separate and distinct political party from the ANC, the differences between the two never prevented the ANC from governing as a team for the benefit of KZN communities," he said.

At the same time, DA provincial leader Zwakele Mnwango says some regions and structures of the NFP in KZN have chosen them. The party also held a press briefing in Durban this morning.

"I can confirm that eDumbe municipality and Nongoma have endorsed the DA in these upcoming elections tomorrow. This decision was taken by leadership with branches in eDumbe and Nongoma. Today, we are welcoming the NFP Youth Movement Leadership which have joined the DA. We're also endorsing the DA today. They are calling all members and community of KZN to support the DA in this upcoming election," he said.

Meanwhile, the NFP in Mpumalanga and Gauteng have decided they will not vote at all because the NFP is not on the ballot paper.

The party won't be contesting tomorrow's municipal polls because they were disqualified for missing the IEC deadline to pay the registration fee.

On Friday, the Electoral Court of South Africa dismissed their application to try and have the decision overturned.
