Woman in court after King Shaka airport drug bust

A twenty-eight-year-old woman is appearing in the Verulum Magistrate's Court today after drugs were found on her at King Shaka International Airport last night.

The Hawks' Simphiwe Mhlongo says members were tipped off about a passenger who was expected to arrive with a consignment of drugs.
He says the woman had boarded a flight from Sao Paolo via Dubai to Durban.
"A swift operation was conducted and members were at the airport with the suspect. She was immediately arrested. The drugs were of the street value of R500 000, She is due to appear today at the Verulem Magistrate's Court," he said.
