Updated | By Chanelle Lutchman and Latashia Naidoo
Violence has erupted at the UKZN Westville campus, after students and police clashed amidst ongoing protests.

Scores of UKZN students have taken to social media sites to express their fear over the situation at the campus this morning, with some describing the university as a 'war zone.'
There's a strong militarised police presence at the campus.
M17 security have also found several petrol bombs at the institutions.
Currently, there is a stand-off between students and police outside the P-block residence, where students have started throwing stones at the police from their res rooms.
Several students have also been arrested.
