Sodwana Bay Guest House owners close up shop
The Sodwana Bay Guest House which does not accommodate black people has shut up shop, with its owners saying they will only be receiving family and friends from now on.
According to statement published on a website containing their religious beliefs, the signage at the establishment was taken down today, with the business's bank account apparently in the process of being of being closed.
A woman named Slindile, whom is referred to as a servant, has apparently been given a choice to stay or leave.
Owner Andre Slade is unapologetic about the racist policy they have had in place, saying his actions are God's will.
The guesthouse and its owners made headlines last week when it emerged that blacks or government officials were not welcome there.
The ANC Youth League has been planning a march to the guest house tomorrow - saying it's going to shut it down.
The league's Mandla Shange says they are still going ahead with their planned protest in the northern KZN town despite this development.
"We were not planning on handing over any memorandum to them [owners]. Our mission is to demonstrate the racism in Sodwana Bay," he said.
