SA's withdrawal from ICC could be problematic: Expert
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
A Constitutional law expert feels South Africa could be creating a major problem for the rest of Africa as it plans to pull out of the International Criminal Court.

Shadrack Gutto, a Professor with the Institute of African Renaissance Studies at UNISA, says the country could become problematic in terms of its commitment to the international justice system.
Gutto’s been commenting after the Minister of Justice, Michael Masutha, yesterday announced Cabinet’s decision to withdraw its members of the ICC.
"We want to see the end of crimes such as those of apartheid and so on," he said.
"So for South Africa to come and say it is pulling out of being a signatory of the Rome Statute is terrible," Gutto said.
