Prepare to pay more for fuel next month

An economist with the South African Institute of Race Relations is predicting the petrol price to increase by about 46-cents a litre.

Diesel will go by up 64-cents a litre more.
The institute's Ian Cruickshanks says the oil price has affected.

"The oil price has risen. It went over 50 dollars a barrel, 52 dollars a barrel at its highest and from well under 50 dollars a barrel in the previous month.
"However, this is marginally offset by the fact that the rand has appreciated a little only by 1 cents worth," he said.
Earlier this month, petrol went up by 44 cents and diesel by 22 cents a litre.
