Political parties expected to finalise candidate lists
Updated | By Algoa FM News
Time is running out for political parties to finalise their candidates lists.

IEC spokesperson, Kate Bapela says the voters roll has officially been closed after the proclamation of the election date by the Co-operative Governance Minister on Monday.
She says this means no new applicants may be admitted to the voters' roll including additional registrations or re-registrations.
Bapela says the certification of the voters' roll for the 2016 Municipal Elections takes place next Thursday.
''When you look at the elections timetable, looking at the period of approximately 72 days towards August 3, the most important and critical aspect is the fact that the voters' roll is officially closed for these elections.
''That means that even if we register millions of South Africans now, they won't be coming into this particular voters' roll for these elections,'' she said.
