Political parties can no longer submit candidates' outstanding documents

Political parties are no longer able to submit their candidates' outstanding documents ahead of the local government elections in August.

The IEC says it will spend the next week or so processing the documents it received before the deadline.
The IEC in KZN's Mawethu Mosery says all the candidates will be made public.
''We will then make public those candidates who have qualified as candidates for these elections and those that we have disqualified because they did not meet the requirements to denominated as candidates next week Monday,'' he said.
Outstanding documents include those missing or left unsigned especially the acceptance of nomination by a party's candidate.
