Police intervene after Durban CBD roads blocked
Updated | By Shaun Ryan
Durban Metro Police are still trying to clear the city centre after truck drivers blocked key roads there earlier this morning.

Drivers barricaded several roads in the CBD grid-locking a large section of the area.
Motorists can expect delays although Metro's Sibonelo Mchunu says officers have been deployed to assist those travelling through the city.
It's still unclear why the drivers blocked the roads.

Mchunu says the protest action began in Umlazi's V section.
"Our members are all over trying to make sure that the roads are cleared. Smith (Anton Lembede) Street and West (Pixley KaSeme) Street have been disrupted.
"However, our members are there clearing the roads. Our members have arrested some of the drivers who were refusing to take instructions from the police officers," he said.
