Madonsela's advice to new Public Protector
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
Outgoing Public Protector Thuli Madonsela is hoping her successor approaches the state capture matter with the same vigour which she had towards it.

Busisiwe Mkhwebane takes over the reigns from Madonsela, whose seven-year-term as Public Protector ended at midnight.
Mkhwebane yesterday said she would prioritise the state capture report, which was not released yesterday, after both President Jacob Zuma and Cooperative Governance Minister Des Van Rooyen applied for court interdicts to halt its release.
Meanwhile, Madonsela says the best advice she can offer Mkhwebane is to be herself.
"I truly believe that we come to this position bringing pieces of ourselves," she said.
"If you have been protecting the public in whatever way - and if she has - she just has to bring pieces of herself and join with magnificent pieces of this team and focus on the purpose of this office," Madonsela said.
