NPA withdraws fraud charges against Gordhan
Updated | By Khatija Nxedlana
The head of the National Prosecuting Authority Shaun Abrahams has dropped the fraud charges against Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan.

Briefing the media in Pretoria, Abrahams says the charges against Gordhan, former SARS Deputy Commissioner Ivan Pillay and former SARS Commissioner Oupa Magashula were reviewed.
The City Press yesterday reported that Abrahams drafted a letter on considering withdrawing the charges. The NPA later denied this saying no decision had been made.
The fraud charges stemmed from Gordhan's approval of an early retirement payout to the tune of R1.1-million to Pillay in 2010.
