Newborn baby dumped in pit toilet dies
The newborn baby that was found abandoned in a pit toilet near a community centre in Shakashead, near Ballito on Saturday has died.
Police spokesperson, Thulani Zwane says community members found the child who was reportedly born premature.
"We have opened a case of concealment of birth and there are no arrests that have been made. We are appealing to anyone who might have the information about the person who threw the infant into the pit toilet to come forward and give us information," he said.
