There is no money for wasteful expenditure: KZN Premier
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
KZN Premier, Willies Mchunu, says there is simply not enough money within provincial government to entertain wasteful expenditure.
Briefing reporters on the outcomes of a provincial cabinet Lekgotla yesterday, Mchunu said they had agreed that further belt tightening was crucial.
"We want everyone to understand and accept that there is no money. However, within what we have there must still be a government that is functioning and delivering services to the people," he said.
"We will continue to do so and our belt-tightening efforts will also continue," Mchunu said.
