The Pietermaritzburg Regional Court has sentenced a 30-year-old woman to 10 years in jail for raping a teenage boy.

The mother of three forced herself on the boy who was 13 at the time at her home on a farm in Dalton three years ago.
In handing down the sentence, Magistrate Sibusiso Mngomezulu said the fact that the woman had not shown any remorse for her actions counted against her.
Noting that she'd maintained her innocence throughout the trial, Mngomezulu said the boy suffered secondary trauma as a result of having to testify before the court and relive the ordeal.
Magistrate Mngomezulu says the woman abused the trust the teenage boy and his grandmother had in her as a neighbour.
He has ordered that her name be entered into the national register for sex offenders, adding she should not suitable to work with children and is not fit to possess a firearm.
