The African National Congress in KwaZulu-Natal says it is not aware of reports that former Premier Senzo Mchunu has declined his offer of redeployment to the National Assembly.
Mchunu stepped down as Premier last week following days of speculation that he was being forced from office.

The party's provincial spokesperson Mdumiseni Ntuli says they have received no formal communication on the matter.
''We haven't been informed by him formally as the leadership of the ANC in KwaZulu-Natal. So we are hearing it through media reports.
''It would be difficult for us to make any speculation or judgement about his conduct which has not yet been conveyed to us formally as his organisation,'' he said.
