Joburg inaugural council meeting off to a rough start
Updated | By Jacaranda FM News
The inaugural meeting of the City of Johannesburg got off to a rocky start when the EFF objected to the swearing in of the ANC's Dan Bovu.

The EFF opened a criminal case, alleging that Bovu - a member of the mayoral committee - attempted to bribe them to vote for the ANC at the council meeting.
The red berets claim that Bovu offered to pay them half a million rand for their votes.
As Bovu stood up to take his oath, an EFF member raised a point of order.
"I'm sorry, I just want to ask here before we carry on if this house or this municipality is going to allow criminals to be sworn in. I want to understand. We are having honourable Dan Bovu - there is a case opened against him of corruption and bribery," he said.
