Glebelands residents hope authorities will intervene amid ongoing violence
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
A Resident of the Glebelands Hostel says he hopes the murder of Zodwa Sibiya, a councillor, will bring about much-needed intervention from the authorities.

Sibiya, who was gunned down at her home on Saturday night, was the 62nd person to be killed at the hostel in the last two years.
The resident says all is calm at the hostel so far this week but residents never know when death is around the corner.

"We need a solution for this problem. Even if we have done something wrong please they must forgive us, please because we are damned now. That is the reason why some members have called a press conference to tell the world [that] whoever can help must come forward," he said.
Sibiya will be laid to rest on Saturday.
